For the past 12 years, I have been primarily a stay at home mom, working and volunteering part-time, including:

  • Operating my own small company, Floopalina (art, design, building, and teaching)

  • Renovation (extensive design and construction work in our own home)

  • Volunteer work (Cuernavaca Arts Cooperative, Destination Imagination, and creative projects at Valley View Elementary)

  • Contract work (Texas A&M Visiting Lecturer, Visiting Artist at Alpha, contract CGI work for Blue Sky Studios)

2003 - Present

Design / build projects including custom furniture, artwork, and outdoor building projects

  • Custom furniture designed and built on spec and on commission

  • The Rones Treehouses - commissioned twin treehouses (design, trim out, assisted in major construction)

  • "Happy Hut" - on site pop-up lounge space for kids, featured in Austin Mini Maker Faire 2014

  • "Slice of Life" - design, organization, and fabrication for collaborative artwork for 16 artists. On long term loan at The Laura Bush Library

  • Won the EANESpriration Innovation Award (2018) for creative volunteer efforts at Valley View Elementary

Visiting Teaching Artist, Alpha

Taught a free form sewing course to middle-grade students

2012 - Fall Semester

Taught a graduate level fundamentals course titled “Design Communication I” in the Visualization Laboratory.
This course covered graphic design, color theory, lighting, composition, and multi-media design.  We focused on both virtual (in computer) and physical installation art.
